Exploring community and engaging the wider world.
A presentation by PYM General Secretary Christie Duncan-Tessmer
The people who belong to a community shape it and the way a community is shaped signals to people they belong. How do our Quaker practices, in our meetings and our outreach, create experiences of inclusion and belonging for those already among us and those seeking a spiritual home? Christie Duncan-Tessmer, PYM General Secretary, will lead us through an exploration and reflection of how our practices speak through and outside our meetings. Her interactive, intergenerational program will help us to collectively imagine our meetings as inviting and engaging in new ways.
Children and Youth Program at 9:45: Join London Grove member, Kim Brosnan-Myers and her two assistants for a program of songs and cooperative games that emphasize the theme of Beloved Community. At 11 AM, PYM staff members continue with the same theme with the younger youth. Older youth are asked to join in the adult program which will be intergenerational. It is appreciated if parents who are bringing children to please register with the form below to help program leaders anticipate the different age ranges of those young people attending.
